Aragorn
''If by life or death, I can protect you, I will - you have my sword.''
Aragorn
was born on March 1st, TA 2931, to Arathorn and Gilraen. Aragorn was the heir to
the throne of Gondor. When Aragorn's father died , his mother took him to
Rivendell, where he was raised by Elrond Halfelven. There, at the age of 20,
Aragorn met and fell in love with Elrond's daughter Arwen. Elrond told Aragorn
that he would not let his daughter marry any man less than the king of both
Gondor and Arnor (two of the lands of Men), so Aragorn went into the wild. He
met Gandalf long ago and assisted him through many perils. He met Frodo at the
Prancing Pony Inn in the village of Bree, where Frodo almost mistook him for a
servant of the Enemy. Aragorn was originally introduced to the hobbits as
Strider, and the hobbits had no idea that he was the heir of kings until they
reached Rivendell. At the Council of Elrond, Aragorn offered his sword to Frodo
and became a member of the Fellowship. After Gandalf fell, he led the Fellowship
through the rest of Moria and into the woods of Lothlórien. When Frodo and Sam
left the company to go by themselves to Mordor, Aragorn made the choice to track
Merry and Pippin, who had been captured by the Uruk-hai. Legolas and Gimli went
with him. Aragorn met Eomer of Rohan along the way, and Eomer told him that he
and his riders had killed the Uruk-hai and that it was doubtful that the hobbits
were still alive. Aragorn continued to look for the hobbits, and was reunited
with Gandalf, who assured them that the hobbits were safe. Aragorn then
abandoned the search and followed Gandalf to Edoras, capital of Rohan. Aragorn
fought and won many battles during the War of the Ring, including Helm's Deep,
the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, and the Last Battle before the Gates of
Mordor. After the War, he married Arwen Undómiel and ruled as king for many
years. Aragorn died in 120 F.A. and left Arwen heartbroken. She then died
in 121 F.A.
